Probably because this is the main story and all the side characters were later given their own stories.
Actually Grayson was a character that Zig the author already thought of making before everything else. I was also disappointed by how the author rushed the ending of kmiyc, but I think it was probable bc Chase and Joshua's love story was js smooth sailing in comparison to others.
The storyboard writer seems better than one in kmiyc though they have cut multiple things the story still contains it's essence unlike kmiyc where it is rushed , not enough pov and multiple changes
