I believe Minyoung wanted just himself in Cheols life and nobody else, Minyoung wanted to make it in a way that the only person Cheol could ever depend on anyone for anything would be him as he wanted Cheols world to revolve around him, his love and vice versa as close all the routes of anyone taking Cheol away from him.
My guess was he did that to isolate the guy. Cuz if he was disowned, he will have no one there for him

I don't understand why did he tell to his abusive parents if he love he should've shut up but i guess he is psycho anything he can do even to his lovers
