This will be a somewhat broad synopsis of the story thus far(officials):
Kwon Yuri was Mr. Lee’s student in high school. They met again at yuri’s adopted sister’s wedding (she is actually his cousin, with red hair). —(The cousin’s parents died but yuri’s parents took her in. Yuri’s parents only put in effort with the adopted daughter and mostly ignore yuri and yuri’s biological older sister. Their parents are both distant and harsh with the biological children, especially the father, who is physically abusive towards Yuri over yuri’s “bad attitude”. Yuri and his biological sister also have a strained/distant relationship.) —At the time of the wedding, Yuri feels he is in love with his adoptive sister, as she was the only one in the family who treated him kindly when they were growing up, so Yuri is very upset that she is getting married (Yuri never expresses that he is in love with her directly to her). Mr. Lee has had a long-time crush on jungoho, the man marrying Yuri’s adopted sister. Mr. Lee gets drunk almost daily, and has sex with men while pretending they are Jungho. Mr. Lee also has chronic insomnia and drinks/has one night stands when he can’t sleep. On the day of Yuri’s adopted sister’s wedding, Mr. Lee is drunk and when Yuri sees him Mr Lee mistakes Yuri for Jungho, and kisses Yuri. Yuri is angry, thinking that jungho and Mr Lee must be having an affair while jungho is married to the woman Yuri loves(his adoptive sister). This is shown to be untrue, as Yuri finds out that Mr. Lee’s feelings for Jungho are one sided and he has never told Jungho how he truly feels. Yuri and Mr Lee grow closer, as they feel a lot of sympathy for each other since they are in similar emotional states with unrequited love. They are good people at their core, and they care about each other. During the time when Mr. Lee is still drinking heavily, Yuri and Mr. Lee have sex a few times (while Mr. Lee drunkenly pictures jungho, which he later feels regret about). This starts to upset yuri later on, as Yuri is developing romantic feelings for Mr. Lee. —Mr. Lee is dealing with burn-out and mistreatment from higher-ups and rude students at the school where he works. Mr. Lee tries to help a student who was outed as gay and is being bullied, but the higher up’s want to sweep it under the rug and pressure Mr. Lee to resign. Mr Lee is very upset, feeling he couldn’t even help the child who was being bullied, and feels upset about losing his job. Yuri helps expose the bullying situation that the school was trying to sweep under the rug, which helps Mr Lee feel a bit better about the whole situation.— During the time when Mr. Lee is no longer working, he and Yuri grow much closer, spending time together everyday which helps with Mr. Lee’s chronic insomnia. Yuri gets badly beaten by his father, and Mr Lee cares for his wounds for the weeks afterward, and Yuri’s love for Mr Lee grows stronger. Mr. Lee feels very guilty about their age gap, and wants Yuri to focus on dating someone his own age. Yuri is in love with Mr. Lee, and is currently trying to find a way to convince Mr. Lee not to put space between them.
