I don't think that's right.
If humans can't play God in fiction where can they play god?
That's one of the joys of being human, they create so much it's awespiring from intergalactic wars, to secret wizard schools, to time travel, to being summoned to other worlds, to cultivating from being a mortal to a god in Chinese fiction, to being gods.
I don't think it's arrogant, human imagination is the reason why we have modern technology.

Human can be so 'arrogant' to assume 'world' can be created out of 'imagination'.. We can't even create quark gluon or electron out of nothing, can't even create time, can't even write out destinies for each creature... and you want to play God. Yeah it's a story alrite, but I wonder why a lot of authors love this typical overplayed nonsensically arrogant plotline..
