Hear me out, my boy's biggest fear was being left alone, and I think that's the only reason he stayed. He doesn't look happy at all. If you noticed, it's not the same smile anymore,he's deeply broken. He hasn't healed from anything. I think the only reason he stays with Jaekyung and allows himself to be manipulated is because he doesn't want to be alone after his grandma passes away. He is tricking himself into loving him so he can stay sane.We all knew she was going to die, and Kim Dan knew it too. So he clung to the only person he had left, even though nothing ever changed. Nobody healed. He just keeps letting himself be manipulated because he's terrified of being abandoned.
And honestly, I bet that if he were left completely alone, he might even end up killing himself because he wouldn't be able to handle everything that happened to him because of Jaekyung. It gives Stockholm syndrome so bad. it's so funny that at the end they killed his grandma just for him to suffer again, no progress at all. atp author just wants kim dan to have a miserable life forever. also the part where kim dan said 'we hurt each other' BRO THERE IS NO 'WE' IT JUST YOU he still got manipulated by that f-cker until the endddd -'i might hurt you again?????????' put the f-cking fries in the bag man. they didn't even felt like a real couple it's just forced and i think author couldn't do anything aboit it because if kim dan accepted him then he would be the dumbest person ever (which seems like it now' and the other way was keeping them seperated which author couldn't even dare to do that. i hope they learned their lesson about how r@pist and victims can't just be a lovely dovely couple in two months or like EVER
