My opinions upon rereading

Mars June 5, 2026 2:22 am

Hello! I’m certain most people won’t remember me, since I only commented once last year when this had just finished. I’ve reread this in full for the first time since it ended a year ago, and felt the need to share my opinions again.

So, I still very much enjoy this one, and I even caught some more details that I had missed on my first read, which made it enjoyable all over again. The romance is very cute, the characters are endearing, and though the art style isn’t necessarily my favorite, I think it’s still very well done.

I still have curiosities about the ending, the same as before, I want to know about Teri’s mom, I want to see the little divine beast kitties again, and now I also want to know what happened with the Etherian royalty and Lisa’s health, since I’m pretty sure she was sick regardless of the experiments. I still want to see their daily lives in this new timeline and see them be happy finally, and I’m still hoping for side stories, even though it’s already been a year, I can still hope. Either way, I did enjoy the ending. I’m sure some people might think it’s a little cliche and cheesy, but what can I say? I’m a sucker for a happily ever after where everyone lives and nothing goes wrong.

If I had one complaint, it was that there wasn’t enough Ellihu, he was my favorite, and I remembered him being so prominent, but upon rereading, I felt like he was barely there at all, and I wanted to see more of him. Also, he kind of has the exact same haircut as me, which i definitely did not notice the first time I read, but looking back, we literally have the same hairstyle.

And finally, and this is a big one, I find everyone complaining in the comments about the translation to be a bit... annoying? The translation was really good and high quality, though I did notice a few typos here and there, that’s mostly just because I’m a freak who looks way too closely at things. The vocabulary in this was amazing, and had me unconsciously speaking fancier in my head for a couple hours afterwards, which was a bit embarrassing to notice, but I digress. I noticed a lot of people complaining about the vocabulary saying it ruined their immersion and that they had to look up a bunch of words, and to that I say: are you serious? And this does NOT apply to people who don’t speak English as their first language or who had learning disabilities or dyslexia or the like, I would never fault you for not understanding then, and i don’t mean to be rude to anybody regardless of reading level, but I found it quite shocking how many people couldn’t understand this. I completely understand that not everyone will instantly know every word, and not everyone is a historical fantasy nerd like me, so they might not be used to this type of language, but there was not a single word in this entire thing that I could not either understand or pick up through context clues. One of the very first things they taught me in school after learning to read was reading comprehension and how to find out what unfamiliar words mean using context clues, the surrounding sentences, or by simply thinking about it for a minute. I don’t know what they taught everyone else or what everyone remembers, but I suggest going back and attempting to relearn this if you have difficulty, it is genuinely such an important skill, and for a community completely built around reading, I would love for people’s reading comprehension to be just a bit higher. That being said, English was consistently my absolute worst subject since middle school all throughout high school, and I did not, and have no intentions on, going to college, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. I’m just some random person on the internet who uses basic skills they learned in elementary school way too seriously just to complain on some random romance story’s comment section.

In the end, just read whatever you want regardless of what anyone else says. If you don’t like the vocabulary or can’t understand it, don’t read it, if you’re like me and do like it, great! I’m happy to see people enjoying things, especially things I also enjoy.

I feel as if everyone only says something when they have something negative to say, not enough people take the time to share their positive opinions or encourage people to grow rather than just fault the material. Let’s all strive to be just a bit more positive, and though I know it’s difficult given the current state of the world, I think just a little bit of kindness and self growth goes a long way. Anyways, thank you for reading the ramblings of a sleep deprived lunatic with too much time on their hands and who had a random burst of positivity pre nap time. I hope everyone has a great day!
