Bit odd considering they added a original episode where both female love interest meet and contest..
yeah that was rather odd I thought, though I didn't realize it was an original ep. I assumed it was at a part that the manga hadn't reached (or at least what we have here thus far)
I know *sigh* they didn't want to do a cliffhanger with all the subsequent wars but I thought they could have crammed the beginning slice-of-life to give more time to finish the arc since it's completed in light novel.
But it seems that the Japanese anime industry is more interested in doing "light" adaptations that is more 12-episode promo of the manga and light novels than a true anime adaptation
true. this isn't the first series to suffer from being abridged when animated and won't be the last :(
unfortunately, it makes it feel more like a studio cash grab :/
If the anime ended up being wildly popular then they'd be stuck having skipped so much content to hit a certain ending.
It's apparent that vast swaths of content was removed to cram as much as they could into the anime. Pretty clear it'll only get a single season I think. That said, I'm enjoying getting to see all this extra and expanded stuff that was removed from the anime script.
