Maybe the pupillary test was just standard checking but they noticed it's not responding to light stimulus normally. So they did the blood test and other test to screen him for underlying issues. You sometimes go to the hospital for a broken leg and you end up finding out you have tumor or something. Here he found out he's new trait and he's pregnant.

wait is there anything to do with a pupillary reflex and pregnancy in real life or is the doctor just saying his eyes didnt react so they ordered a blood test which is how they found out hes pregnant ? are they gonna explain why his eyes didnt react?
