I'm convinced being a witch is a genetic thing, since it doesnt seem like something any girl or woman could just end up learning. That's probably why the men that choose to stay within these villages are called heretics, because in having children with the witches, more witches end up being made.
While i understand their desperation because they can't grow food, killing witches and raiding their village, the place where they consistentlt product food, is really short sighted.
I guess they believe killing every last witch would mean there would be no one to "steal" the Amurd. but is being a witch a genetic thing?
