It’s been a while since I read this but we learn that he actually pursued her to get revenge, and he’s also kinda obsessed with her, there is an entire backstory to this. He regains his memories and acts like he didn’t regain them but she notices, and he is AWFUL to her. He does everything to hurt her even smashes her entire place. She cries and begs him not to leave and he does, she falls into deep depression and she learns she is pregnant so she has something to live for now. Then the older brother hires her again for a month, and after that she is going to be free so she goes to do the job. chaewoo’s memories start to merge, basically his 2 personalities and he remembers how he loved FL, he doesn’t want to accept it in the beginning but does so gradually. He tries to redeem himself but FL doesn’t forgive him for a long time bc of how much he hurt her before. The tables turn and this time he is the one chasing after her and does everything to be forgiven. We also learn ML hated his brother and his brother is actually a really bad person. Chaewoo kills him in the end just like how his brother killed his teacher**( He had a cello teacher/mom. He calls the teacher mom because the teacher kidnaps him when he was little to get revenge from the family but takes good care of him and raises him, that is how he is able to have a nice childhood. Then she is found and chaewoo is brought back into the family and she is killed**. The brother was/is jealous of chaewoo and was in love with the teacher but the teacher loved (motherly love) chaewoo and not the brother. When chaewoo is brought back his brother says his mom is killed, his mom wasn’t actually killed instantly, his brother lied to him, he imprisoned his mom beneath his room bc she refused to be with him/have his kids and told her everytime she hears chaewoo play the cello he would feed her. But chaewoo doesn’t touch the cello again after his mom’s death. Chaewoo was actually a very famous cellist who won many competitions. He learns later how his mom actually died and blames himself.) It’s a typical chaebol family where there is no love but chaewoo was able to experience it a little and the person his brother loved, loved chaewoo. After his mom’s death Chaewoo becomes very emotionless and detached, he becomes a hunting dog and does all the dirty work for the family/company, kills/blackmails politicans, tortures people etc. basically becomes a mass murderer. They also have other brother/s (2 if I remember correctly) and one of them escapes the family and becomes a teacher (he’s also a hacker) and works to bring down the family/kwon company. They work together behind the brothers (Ki seok) back. All that time he is a hunting dog he is actually also working to bring down his family. The reason why chaewoo wanted revenge from the FL was also bc he thought she had betrayed his mom/teacher and turned her in, which led to his real family/brother capturing her. He learns that’s not what happened and that he had falsely blamed the FL all this time.The reason the brother calls FL back to work for him for a month is to fuck with chaewoo because the brother knows they love each other, his brother wants to take that away from him after giving him a taste to break him and hurt him. before chaewoo kills his brother his brother says she’s gonna die just like your mom you can’t protect her etc because he kidnaps her, but chaewoo finds her. The story has a good ending after a long redemption arc she forgives him and they live a happy life. In the side stories they go through a rough patch where FL becomes paralysed for a year after birth and chaewoo has to take care of her, and there is some miscommunication but it’s nothing serious they make up cause they love each other.
