Well if, in the original book, if she died painfullly because she couldn’t read the room, it sounds like Usis is useless.

Idk know about that, they made it obvious to point out that she disappeared off screen and had not died visibly in the original novel. I think they are insinuating that she is doing more stuff behind the scenes and controlling people to the point that she can just disappear if she wanted. But this is just a guess

Absolutely agree with this. People just assume she died in the onvel off screen, but in actuality, she is just never mentioned again, meaning she leave without leaving trace and have enough wit that make people overlook this

Exactly just like the story of regina was more complicated than what the novel described....

The readers assumed she died. NOT that she died. Because the pov is from varia, so obviously if she didn't know much about the consort (eg. She is cunning but in the novel is portrait to be slow on the uptake ) she won't really know why she disappeared

Kinda reminds me in Death is the Only Ending for The Villainess where the original daughter is said to return but they never talk about what she had been doing growing up away from the duchy.

    I did say “IF”.

Or did everyone miss that part?

Actually, it was Leo’s point of view. Leo transmigrated from the modern world. Varia has always been part of this world. She just died and went back in time.

Leo was the one assuming Usis died.

I also said “if”. Meaning that there is the possibility Leo is wrong.

So IF, in the original work, she died from not being able to read the room, as Leo assumes, I stand by her character being rather useless.

Oh the 'readers' I said here refers to leo's original self + the reader of the og! novel(considering that there may be and that they also assumed it cus we all know there's gonna be people thag share such opinion)

But ye i get what u mean

    Kaizenix June 7, 2026 2:41 pm

Also, the reason why I said it's varia's pov is that the og!novel is in her narrative. So if she just disappeared from the novel, it's not really surprising cus she could just be unawarw of her capabilities. And leo sees the screen through varia's pov, making her bias assumptions.... Sorry if my explanation is a mess

Leo read the novel written from baria's point of view which is why the readers assumed she died
