So I've been thinking about it, and what if soleum is living in a loop.
Soleums god form has reality warping powers, and the only thing keeping him from ascending is his belief in being a regular corporate salaryman. But, I have actually spent like 5 hours developing the theory that after the most recent event ( him going back to the "real world" with braun ) braun, since he no longer has value to soleum, will attempt to release entities ( or alter the world ) to create value. Soleum, upon realizing the danger, will likely be forced to create the corporate, and will take on his god form to contain the entities released. At that point, Director Ho should be active, and he can vacate his position as CEO / creator of the company to become Kim Soleum again, which would explain why in the beginning he understood everything so quick. Even if you have been briefed or read the novel, if your in a life-or-death, you usually act on instinct, and not logic. The fact his body can allow him to remain calm enough to rationalize is odd. Not to mention, Brauns friendliness. He seemed to be awfully chummy with soleum even on first meeting, and if they are looping, it would make sense: while he cannot directly expose his prior knowledge of Soleum, he can be friendly to him. He can also attempt to prolong the loop, and change the cycle, which might be why he's so eager to get soleum to resume his eldritch form: he wants to convince him to stop the loops. It can also explain how he quickly becomes clingy when soleum ignores him, not only because he is an extremely bored entity who can only influence the world with soleums permission, but also because he doesn't want soleums to erase him. That might be part of why he allows soleums human form to be harmed before stepping in last minute, creating further reliance to ensure his existence.
