Reading this actually made me mad. It isnt about the characters anymore, but zig is very confusing in this one. I dont have high hopes for their writing, but this is just sloppy. Its like they are trying to make non toxic (just misunderstanding) but just angsty story but then backtrack the development cos it will end too fast. Example, ml became aware and of mc’s past, how he was literally groomed assaulted and raped by his disgusting dad, and what did he do when he caught them? He got mad at mc EVEN after knowing what his dad did in the past. He knows his mother is also an enabler despite being always mad for her husband being a pedofile, and what did he do? HE LISTENED TO HIS MOTHER. He knows mc hated being called all the slurs theres is, and he agreed not to call him that (they had a decent talk about it) and what did he do when he “assumed” mc was cheating and jump to the conclusion just cos he saw him with another man? Despite it being obvious mc was about to tell him a good news, HE CALLED HIM ALL THE SLURS AND MORE. (Like the past didnt happen??? I get ml is mad but he is always portrayed as a very reasonable man, zig incase you forgot) Like im not mad at the characters anymore, im mad at zig. Wtf man make up your mind. You are trying so hard to make the ml likeable by making him a decent guy just deeply hurt and traumatized by a misunderstanding (his past self was such a green forest im so mad cos he couldve been so great but zig destroyed his character) , but you are making it hard to do so by making him so godamn toxic cos u want to extend the angst. Like make him toxic from the beginning so that its not confusing. Not this oh he is just a wounded decent man who is hung up in the past, every hurtful treatment to mc was because he was just hurt and betrayed cos he loved too much. Like no, you just suck at this point. Like all the resolved misunderstandings and development of the characters and their relationship in the previous chapters is forgotten erased, did not happen. Cos its the same conflict happening over and over again. God im so mad at the writing in this, its so sloppy af. And im more mad cos i had high hopes for this. I was excited wth the plot cos its right up my interest. But its just sloppy. The conflict and development just keeps repeating. I had to reread KMIYC to recover.
