Honestly I can understand both of their perspectives, one one hand the mc has trauma from his past relationship and is also likely very aware of how being outed can ruin someone's life but on the other hand I can sort of understand how the ML wants to show off his love for Garam and doesn't really care about the relationships he'll lose because off it. Low key I kind of understand Garam a lot more especially because Jaehyuk has already sort of been cut off from his family because he's dating a guy. As someone who was also running away from their problems at one point, it can be really hard to stop because you start thinking that youre already so far gone that you can't get out or you don't see the point in trying to confront your problems at this point, a lot of the time people think that avoidance is the best solution for everyone involved and that it will cause less pain than direct confrontation.
I think its a good thing that they're taking a break because they should probably work on themselves separately. I feel like this probably won't happen but I hope that Garam talks to a therapist to try and work through some of his traumas and insecurities and I also hope that Jaehyuk talks to someone as well, it doesn't even have to be a therapist I feel like he would get more insight/perspective by talking to one of Garams friends or even talking to his childhood friend who knows about them. I genuinely hope that they go their separate ways to work on themselves and try to understand the others perspective and then reunite sometime in the future because at their current stages they're going to keep fighting because of a lack of proper communication and understanding.
This was a long ass rant but honestly I've been thinking about this since this conflict started and was getting really frustrated with some of the comments. Some people don't understand how hard it can be to be different in such a conservative culture especially when you're young and haven't even entered the workplace yet, rumors travel fast and honestly even if you do manage to get a job in spite of the discrimination you will likely face you'll still probably feel isolated from your peers because of it.
Anyways I feel like since the authors showed Garam in pain (abdominal pain or something idk) my first thought was appendicitis but regardless I think he'll end up in the hospital in one of the upcoming chapters. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
