I’m confused on why some ppl aren’t getting why ppl hate the main couple and like the 2nd couple better. All their mind amounts to is “rape!”
1) The reason ppl hate the first couple is solely because of the mc. If the mc was written differently or swapped out with a different character- ppl would like the main couple. The main 1st top is a green flag, there weren’t any complaints about him. But the bottom was closer to a red flag. He only used the top for his body and would lie to him, think anbout his crush and have physical contact with his crush, and sneak around acting like he was cheating, which made the whole situation feel icky. If he was honest with the top from the start and open about everything, ppl would’ve defended him more.
2) The reason ppl like the 2nd couple obviously isn’t the rape. Idk if yall have read BL for long, but at some point a lot of ppl become desensitized to it. No ones proud of it, but ppl focus on other aspects. The dynamic of red flag x red flag couple is rare. It also provides karma on both sides. So the bottom mc got his karma for being put in the same non-consensual situation he put someone else in. And the top got his karma with the whole falling in love and suffering arc. No one is saying that they’re green flags and good people. But ppl can like couples that provide an entertaining plot. The same way ppl can like how villains stories are written.
