I binged the childhood between Nagare and Okaya and DAMN that boy was IN LOVE in the most twisted way... This is could have easily have been a Dom/Sub relationship but nooo the mother had to nurture his murderous side and not bother to teach him limits. The father is right the mother is the true Demon. But also I wonder about Nagare why would he accept all that willingly, that twist threw me off

Theory is that Nagare has a savior complex.
While it is covered by the veil of "justice" and merely "following the father's footsteps", Nagare has shown many times that he himself is almost as abnormal as Okaya. Because the rational/logical approach to finding out what Okaya done is to report it to someone, yet he offered himself up as a sacrificial lamb.

This ! Exactly! I think he has a some kind of savior complex coz if he was like his dad he would have just ignored the whole thing (⌒▽⌒) Just kidding hehehe
It was definitely hinted previously at the beginning when he just kept saving students and never tried other ways, like somehow he felt he was the only one who could save them. His father is the police for Ghads sake, catch the culprit not indulge them (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
The flashbacks mostly confirm this with how he just let him choke him out and in someway I think he also depends on Okaya since he feels needed and they both developed Co-dependency. He might have been perceived as his best friend and didnt want to lose him as well.
This turned out to be a doomed twisted Yaoi ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄

OMG THISSS!!! Your thread honestly makes my psychoanalytic brain so happy!! I've been thinking this the moment I finished Okaya's backstory but I just couldn't put it into words!! You've said it so perfectly!!

You're welcome! Ever since the flashbacks and backstories everything has come full circle and so many things just clicked and honestly I'm loving how it all unfolded with all it's psychological aspects and not just blamed on "trauma" and I'm scared for the ending ┗( T﹏T )┛
Hopefully the husband can get to live with Maria in the end and live atoning to his sins by her side. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
