i mean it was entirely accidental but he did end up hurting him, like with the spray. not at all the same level or frequency of hurting, but to be fair, that did happen.
i think we can consider Dan hurt JK by rejecting/denying him when JK started to be sincere, ofc it was justified and deserved but nevertheless JK was hurt by the consequences of his actions leading to Dan's (cold) responses and at the end crying hurt that Dan is leaving him behind
