it’s not about being rich, it’s about the recipient of the scholarship obviously already being decided from the get-go. by rights that’s not a merit based scholarship, it’s given to him because of his personal connection to the decision makers. also lol depending on what the terms of the scholarship is, it can be extremely illegal.
I'm pretty sure even without connections, he'd still get it. He's shown to he very capable and it's only because of the shit stain of a father that made set him back. He literally ran for his life, he deserves a break for once but i think the rolling snow ball down the hill is gonna turned into an avalanche soon
yes he probably would still get it, that’s not the problem, but issuing the scholarship required an unbiased, transparent method to maintain fairness among students. that wasn’t the case here so it’s very unethical and unfair for students. nepotism is never good even if the nepo baby is actually talented

tbf if i was a student there and saw a kid whose seemingly rich get multiple scholarships + have a close relationship w someone who issues the scholarships i would not shut up about how unfair it is and even if yeomin does deserve the scholarship bc he’s smart af, the fact that he has a benefactor who ensured he receives the scholarship is the definition of nepotism :( yeomin is gonna be pissed when he finds out, rightfully so.
