This is one of the mission where Grayson, Dane, and others were in charge of. They suppose to help a cat stuck from the tree (if im not mistaken) but Grayson wandered around the neighborhood and eventually went missing. All the crew went panics and try to find him but to no avail. Fortunately Dane found him later in the day.

In Grayson pov, earlier he heard someone asking for help but no one took him seriously. So he search for that sound and found a kid left in a dark, mostly abandoned bunker / storm shelter under someone's yard. Turns out that kid was "punished" by their parents and had been stuck in that bunker for days. Like other psycho-sociopaths out there (lol), instead of helping that kid out, Grayson chooses to JOIN them in that dark smelly bunker:D I can spoil more for you but this is basically what happened.

ohh i'd love to tell you more about how interesting grayson's train of thought is xD.

So, in Grayson's defense he is trying to help that kid. The kid says he is somewhat grounded (when actually it is a type of domestic abuse from his father) and because of that he have to stay in the bunker until his father free him. Grayson thinks that if he helped that kid out of the bunker before the 'detention period' ends he will get that kid in more trouble. So, he chose to make company of that kid and wait with the kid in that bunker until that kid's father free them. They wait and wait but the poor kid has been in the dark for so long he almost collapsed. Dane eventually comes to the rescue (i forgot how he found them, but it was raining)

When Dane heard of Grayson's reasoning, he got furious and flabbergasted. Grayson then explained his parent (the Alpha Daddy, Ashley) use the same method of punishment to keep Grayson's behavior in check. He will be sent into a room to 'reflects' or in Grayson, to wait until his father let him out. He said being alone in that room with nothing to do is lonely, so he used to wish someone would accompany him passing the time

You know how twisted all the Miller's brothers are because they didn't born with empathy (except for Chase) so Ashley has no choice but to do this method to his kids. Once their destructive nature is about to rampage out of control, Ashley will lock Grayson in a room (any common room in their house, and obviously not a bunker like the kid's) for hours, depending on his wrongdoings. No food, no communication, nothing... Just wait for quite amount of time and then he will let Grayson out.

After that commotion, Dane basically helps Grayson figuring things out. Like, what's the "normal" response to certain situations, what questions to ask in a certain context, when he supposed to offense or defense in such situations, and more importantly to not mimics what others are doing. Because all this time, all Grayson did is just textbook mimicking others. Grayson didn't know what is considered to normal people. And Dane's there to help him to be more human

i didn't know much about the parents back story, but from what i've read in community's forum, in this story's world the Dominant Alpha gene is cursed with "mania/frenzy" where their pheromones became toxic if not released frequently. Hence why dominant alpha's throw parties once in a while. To be free from this frenzy a dominant alpha has to get marked/mated by their compatible omega (which is their Fated Mate or Destiny, in Grayson's word ) So it's just in their blood i guess.

Also, more tmi, Ashley's parent was the victim of this pheromones frenzy. If i'm not mistaken, Dominic (Ashley's alpha dad) suffer from the frenzy which caused an irreparable damage to his pheromones glands. One thing led to another, Ashley's omega dad also bear the consequences of his partner's frenzy. Later on, Ashley grew a trauma from what happened to his parents to the point he hates his Dominant Alpha gene and even his offsprings who carries the gene

Yup... the dominant alpha in Zig's world really isn't like in common omegaverse... Dominant Alpha in this world tends to born with no empathy, famous with their obsessive behavior, and most likely to die if trapped in a pheromone frenzy. What makes it worse, fated mate is somewhat rare and more like a myth in the modern era. Sooo, it's either you throw your body into an orgy or dies in insanity

How sad , at least author gave to miller family the opportunity to find their fate at least
