earlier it said he had the ability of foresight, which means he probably witnessed the future where everyone suffered because of rebecca. although rebecca is gone and the future has already changed, there are probably still things that are threatening the possibility of a good/safe future, so i assume he's on some sort of expedition to help prevent that.
