i think the rape was wholly unnecessary esp cs later in the story it seems almost directly contrary to eunsungs character and backstory tbh i read the rest of the story ignoring that part because it just doesnt suit either of them or how their relationship develops
i also think that story was initially meant to be far darker than it turned out which is why the author may have felt the need to add it (which again i feel like you can have darker themes and relationships without rape) but changed their mind halfway thru

Ill never get why authors CHOOSE to rape their characters. Like i understand and sympathise with characters that get raped by strangers but to have a romantic relationship with their rapist feels out of touch i also understand theyre not “normal” but still .then again theyre not real lol
