I’m going on a little rant here..

I get the people saying that it was a lesson for her to learn, that she can’t act that way when she becomes queen.., but it’s just so frustrating because that’s who Mimi is.
like they all love Mimi for her free spirit, for her strength and her not thinking twice before helping someone, but then they turn around and are like boom noooo, a queen can’t act like that, BUT you knew who she is and how she acted before she became engaged to the prince and now all of a sudden you got a problem?
none of u corrected that kind of behavior before, you were literally giving her a pat on the back and praising her for it.
like it’s so hypocritical idk

After locking her away for days and punishing her. She suffered those days thinking shes too much to be loved. Then after all that he come back and says he loves her they way she is. Then why punish her?

I did read it, but it still doesn’t change the fact that she was literally all alone while the others were celebrating, drinking and having fun.. she was literally ready to change her whole personality because they made her feel like she wasn’t enough or maybe even that she was too much.
and only after all of that the Prince had the audacity to come and act like it all never happened and be like oohh Mimi I love you just the way you are bla bla blaaa
like sir you could’ve just had a nice civil conversation with me, but nooo locking me up was a much much better solution rightt

rightt and then at the wedding everybody’s like “sorry Mimi”, “a bride shouldn’t have that expression on her wedding day”… like cmon you’re the reason for that expression

I think you're giving FL too many passes. If she had gotten hurt, commoners would have taken the brunt of it (or whatever status her attendants or guards are). Mimi as is she is fine and loved, but heavy is the head that wears the crown. If an empress drops everything for the sake of one thing, that's no different than an actual selfish self-righteous person.

"I can't just stand by..." is pretty arrogant considering the CP needs to not just stand by the most. She is by far the strongest, yes, until she is not... Then what? She wasn't starved or anything, and yes, it was harsh, but it was just that important for her to realize what she did. Her and the CP both.

Addition to my commented above. What is being locked up in a cosy room as punishment, when her attendants/guards would've been killed as punishment if something happened to her? Pretty sure they were punished even though she was fine. That's just how it is, whether Mimi was strong or not. If Mimi wasn't strong, her guards have the duty to protect her. And though she is, that duty remains the same.

It would be weirder for CP to push with the wedding before forming the conviction of being strong enough to let Mimi be who she is. He is weak as fuck, but as I said above, heavy is the head that wears the crown and I'm sure he did a lot behind the scenes to put weight into those words.

no I get what you’re saying but the rest of us are just talking about the fact that all of them knew who Mimi was and how she acted before she became the fiance of the cp. She literally saved his mom and almost sacrificed her own life then too, but it was fine because what? she was the queen oh ok..(they literally all liked her even more after that) it’s like she has to change her personality to suit them.
I get what you’re saying about the guards and everything, but also it is sad to be locked up all alone (no matter the place) before your wedding while the others are partying and celebrating.

I understand that in these times the attendants would be held responsible. And it’s not the room she was locked in up is that’s the problem. She was completely isolated. The king literally forbade anyone from seeing and talking to her. At the very beginning it was explained that she had been training since early childhood to become head of her family. Her entire life up to a year before she meets Renato she was trained meticulously to be strong enough to protect her loved ones. That is the main point everyone fell for. That she’s this Bright strong girl who will do anything to protect people. When her abilities help out the nobility and royalty they had no problem with her actions. There wasn’t even foreshadowing that they were becoming concerned about her actions. It was all of a sudden, before the wedding. Like, “the bride now belongs to us so she may not act on her own.”. My point is they isolated this girl that they praised over and over. She had no one to talk out her feelings with. She witnessed everyone else celebrating HER upcoming wedding. She started questioning if she was ever good enough. At the end she was ready to completely change herself for the royal family. And Renato promised She wouldn’t ever have to.

Ehhh. She had to be alone because she had to come to the conclusion on her own. If anyone else was there, they could've influenced her to lean into a conclusion.

    Agree to disagree

I just hoped the wedding was pushed back instead of her being confined until the day of the wedding itself . Thankfully Mimi was not the type to harbor ill feelings towards anyone so everything was brushed under the carpet but she was already anxious enough because of the wedding itself and added the sudden serious plot development.. made it feel like a rushed ending
