• xiao jinle, 3rd prince's son, is in love with xu yu (bc she unknowingly saved him from bandits(?) one day) • beauty qin (blue hair) and beauty li (preggo one) weren't in the drama; consort tao was the preggo one instead • xiao jinming, prince happy-go-lucky, could actually fight!! in the confrontation scene, he protected xiao jinyun and 2v1'd rebels and went one-on-one with the 3rd prince before xu yu arrived • xu yu(emperor) got diagnosed for being pregnant and was accused of sleeping with jinming while the emperor(xu yu)'s at war. the pregnancy wasn't real but the dark magic made it so that when she's checked it'll show that she is pregnant • concubine de finds out sooner about the switch so she's already being sweet to xu yu(emperor) before the emperor(xu yu) returned from war • while xu yu and huna are bonding together, both the emperor and concubine de are spying at them from afar (there's one scene where only concubine de is spying so it's kinda like seeing a gl love triangle lmao) • concubine de later finds out that the couple already switched back but still remained good to xu yu • the emperor wasn't under the influence when they conceived, rather it happened right after the ministers and officials kept pushing him to show them an heir and told the matter to xu yu • they didn't have to pretend being pregnant to appease the officials and harem, rather they probably just waited till she actually got pregnant MORE IMPORTANT CHANGES IN THE DRAMA: • the emperor himself told xu yu he's never been intimate with any of the concubines (he's not the one who impregnated consort tao but he just let her act so he could catch the one behind her) • he also said the reason why he kept his distance to her is because he's scared that his opps will find out he loves her and might use her to control him • yes he only loves her and has no affection to other concubines • after killing the 3rd prince and his faction, they had the concubines return to their families except concubine de and another one as they still want to serve xu yu and will soon be appointed as female officials
