I understand that ML’s actions by human standards is wrong. But I think some people forget that he is never a human, you cannot impose human standards in a dragon that live far too long, above mortal, to have the same morality as humans. From the very start it’s never an equal relationship. You have to understand that the dragon doesn’t have a good understanding of how to take care and love a human. That’s doesn’t mean it is right, nor it will erased what he did to Ha-on, his suffering exist. As for the dragon, You cannot run when you never learn how to stand, unfortunately that’s how it is for ML his nature was never gentle to begin with.
My take is that the life were Ha-on suffers from ML already ended. That part of the story has come to conclusion and the dragon already serve the consequences. Ha-on managed to live his lives for so long without the dragon hovering him. ML just watch him from afar, imagine seeing the person who has carved something in you from afar but not being able to touch him was already the consequence of his actions. it wasnt just a lifetime it is a couple of lifetimes. I don’t know but in human standards thats way too long.
You see if this was the 1st life I would say yes run away but unfortunately this is not. If he ever manage to remember all the memories from that life then it will be his choice whether to stay or not, the memories will probably dug up all his trauma from his 1st life which will either make him stay or leave. ML will probably just let him decide whatever he wanted. During the present timeline/life there wasn’t a time where the ML forced Ha-on to do something he didn’t want.
In short I want the current timeline to be a new start than a continuation of trauma from the first life. Ha-on suffered enough and the dragon already suffer the consequences of his actions. Let them navigate the new chance they have for the better future than get stuck with the past trauma unable to move forward Ha-on deserves his peace.
might as well add, if I were to ask , how many more lifetimes do you want Baekryeong to suffer? Is it not suffering if the person you hold dear have no recollection of you who holds onto the memories for centuries while you can’t even be near that person no matter how much you wanted to?
