I'm wondering about the story of fl's former friend. That plotline feels unresolved to me. Fl, knowing that her ex-friend was forced into an arranged marriage in the past, reacted with "okay" when she learned in the present that she had married someone from abroad, even though she knew she was in love with her brother? I know they didn't get along later. But wasn't she curious whether she was forced into it or not?
Honestly I have mixed feelings about fl's family because her "brother" is a creep. And I don't know what he expected when his family raised her to believe he was her brother/family? All the constant overlapping family secrets give me a headache
I was shocked when I found out the former emperor raped that poor woman's corpse. And the fact that fl had to see it because he was maintaining her vital functions? Disgusting.
