Geez SOME people ar OVERREACTING just bc mc told sade to leave at first, like honestly, can you guys just read and try to understand HER and the ORPHANAGE'S situation if sade got caught visiting the orphanage. Even with the duke's protection things are bound to get messy. "Oh but sade is a kid too" yes, he is a kid, a prince, but even though he's treated poorly by his bastard of a father, HE'S STILL THE PRINCE OF THE NATION regardless.

Let's say that sade run away from the palace, the palace will be in chaos (doubt it would lol) because their prince is missing, and the very first suspect will obviously mc and the orphanage, why? Bc the fucking chamberlain knows, he's the one that told sade abt her name, surely the chamberlain will snitch on the prince and tell the king. If the king is a cunning bastard, he'll use sade to blackmail mc saying that "she kidnapped sade" or something like that, the duke might help defend her but that's a temporarily issue.

As long as sade is a prince and has a home, sade will always be bound to come back to the palace, well it'd be different is the king disowned sade for being "incompetent and useless"

I can only speak for myself but my issue with the FL isn't that she turned the prince away. My issue with her is that she was the one who decided to approach the boy in the first place. She knew the kid felt worthless and desperate for love. And she put in his head the idea that she was a person (the only person in his life up until that point) that was glad to have met him and found joy from just encountering him.

The kid went to look for her because of what she did. Like I said in a previous comment, it's irresponsible and cruel to give kindness to someone who feels hopeless and worthless to just to then take it away. The kid is living a hard life. She doesn't need to make it worse by becoming yet another person that makes him feel like he should've never been born.

What she should've done, if she didn't want to be involved in the kid's issues, was walk away in that very first meeting instead of sitting next to him.

especially considering she knew his identity when she first saw him and she knew him being around would pose risk to the children; she turned him away the first time and then doubled back, but she’ll still cut him off if things get bad. he’s a neglected child who just wants to be loved, so continuously doing this kind of thing is really cruel. eventually him going there will pose a threat and he’ll go from not knowing what it’s like to be loved and wanted, to suddenly having it all stripped away. it’s hard to bounce back from either of these things, but i just think it’s cruel af that she’s doing this. even if she doesn’t mean to hurt him, in the end, she will hurt him bc his father is an awful being :/

Exactlyy. She basically offered her hand to boy that's already down on the floor and then pushed him back to the ground. That's so fucked up.

There’s also, the matter of, “it’s not what you say, but how do you say it.” She could’ve gently explained it to him, not just chased him away. She could have been sympathetic and sorry. If the situation wasn’t that she didn’t WANT to do it, but that her hands were tied and she COULD’T do it, that doesn’t feel so much like betrayal or rejection. That feels like someone wants to help but genuinely can’t. He’s a nice boy. If he understood that his presence was putting the other children into true danger, he likely wouldn’t have been as hurt by being asked to leave.

Yeah that whole scene where she rejects the boy and just stands by as the other kids block him like some sort of danger was so fucked. I honestly feel like the author just wanted to write a childcare story without having any sort of idea as to how an adult should interact with a child.

Yeah, i think it's quite realistic choice.
Why suddenly MC has to protect all children she came across?

So now calming down a kid = must take responsibility to the end for his growth? Fun

You should get angry at that stupid emperor, he is the one that shouldn't be born

Help the amount of y'all being mad because of what i said is so hilarious to me.

First of all, i didn't mean to target what i said to anyone. I just couldn't hold back myself from saying my opinion because a lot of people were dropping the manwha just because of what the MC did.

Like there's nothing wrong with the manwha and all, it honestly has a good plot, but people were being overly sensitive just because of one thing (not that i wanna sound rude)

The whole sade and mc situation thing— it's just like finding a REALLY CUTE CAT on the street, but you can't take it home because your parents only likes dogs, and the cute CAT already has a owner. So ofc you have to leave the cute cat alone because you can't take home someone else's pet.

"oh but sade isn't an animal"

Please read what i said CAREFULLY. I wasn't saying that he's an animal, I'M JUST COMPARING two similar situation, except one happened in real life, and the other happened in a manwha.

And I'm sure that y'all would also do the same if y'all were in their situation.

I don't think anyone was mad at you?

As for your cat analogy, yes you don't take it home if you can't keep it. But feeding it, petting it, hugging it, telling it you want it to come home with you, only to then kick it to the curb when it decides to follow you is the messed up part here. It's ok to not want to take responsibility for someone else. But don't give hope to the hopeless just to strip it away if you weren't planning to be involved to begin with. You should walk away from the beginning

At this point, it's not sade or MC's fault anymore, it's the emperor's fault for raising and treating his kid that way

I also commented the same thing in another site, and people were furious because i just said that "what MC did was basic human decency"

I see where you're coming from and I agree that it's the emperor's fault ultimately. I think if the interaction had been between two adults it would have been human decency. But because it was done with a child it's not.

An adult could understand the concept of showing fleeting kindness with no strings attached. A child does not. When you show pity or kindness to a small child in an abusive environment, they will want to become reliant on you. They do not understand the idea of you coming in for one moment to give them the love and hope they had always been searching for only to dissapear like nothing ever happened.

Children have very limited life experiences. So any impact your make in their life is monumental. MC is the adult here and she should've known better than to play with a child's feelings. It may not have been her intention, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. And it doesn't make sense for her character to have made such a blunder if she's supposed to be into childcare

    YUKI September 1, 2026 1:34 am

Well I just wanna say that kindness is a two edge sword. It's either good or bad, Mc is an adult here she knows the consequences if she interacts with sade and yet still approach him and give him false hope because he's just a child who's really starved of attention and love he doesn't know what are the consequences of him being there but she knows it. Children tends to follow what they like, desire and where they are comfortable because they are easily mentally and emotionally stressed/moved . If you want to 'help' you should also consider being responsible of any outcome of your decision, especially regarding children. She can also explains it to him why he can't go there easily, because children are like sponge they easily absorbed what they learned and experienced, they can also interpret actions raw without giving it much deeper thought especially if you're really down. Villains are not made just because they are abused, survived violence and etc. but because they received the wrong kindness that's why not because you pity someone you are required to be kind to them if you're not willing to take responsibility
