He starts to get curious about Dane and starts watching him, for him it is like the the person who first found the platypus (= Dane). And totally forgets for a month or so that he was searching for a dominant omega/fated mate and actually wanted to leave because he wasn't successful. And then he see it...Dane's chest!...an life changing event for him. And then some things happen like Virginia becoming loyal to Dane, getting irrtated by his reaction to Dane and Dane himself and things don't end up and he starts to suspects that Dane is a dominant omega.

From where I’m reading the first 220 pages were covered in these chapters, and the sex scene where Dane goes into heat is around 450. He doesn’t get tangible conformation that he’s an extreme omega but he just deduces it here since the heat forces him into a rut.

ZIG says she has DMIYC side stories planned
but disneyland is the last current chapter, and is actually a side story. The main story ends at the hostpital, with the epilogue after where Dane says I love you after Grayson apologized to Chase
then that disneyland side story + explicit hospital sex are the side stories, with a second side story release expect without an official date.
The 2nd Extra should be released this year, at least that was planned.
I think that Zig will released extras when she is done with Bliss's story. Let's hope we'll get the one for Desire then.
