I think it is harem or at least harem bait. The novel reviews are terrible and they have the same opinion like yours
People don’t usually automatically fall in love with someone who protects them, and that bodyguard dude is obviously too in love with his “boss” to even show actress lady some “affection”, there was even one chapter I remember where he obviously hates how she’s being treated well by the boss man when she was “just a pretty face”
Also I think that she has at least good feelings for mc despite him being an asshole bc he at least believes she can do something more than just being an actress/singer and that she has it in her to protect herself unlike how the bodyguard has been treating her like a fragile little flower that needs protecting from even a breeze of wind (just my opinion/understanding/how i remember the chapters, feel free to disagree)
Im just gonna disagree, I still find her affection for mc quite stupid, the woman in this story are written poorly and almost all of them are treated as fragile flowers and only have support abilities or rely on a man, the argument where the mc treats her differently is weird, because outside of there were several people who treated her differently.
I dont think she should have a romance with the bodyguard but I also think she doesn't need any romance. The fact that she began to have a rivalry with buffer girl for his affection is weird
Well I’m not gunna fight you on the romance part since I totally agree that romance is 100% unnecessary to this story as I prefer MC to live happily and quietly with his brother. (Also think the girls are stupid, moreso the buffer girl who immediately outed that they had a “prophet” just to get on black scythe’s good books)
I genuinely hate harems, there’s no way the actress would fall in love mc over her body guard who protects her, also the I genuinely hate how he needs 5 players in his party but treats everybody those same 5 ppl like shit
