Agreed fully. Yes, trauma isn’t an excuse but it’s an explanation.
He grew up in a very hostile environment which would make it hard for anyone to communicate properly. it takes a lot of time and patience and that’s what jiwan signed up for.
I don’t know if I’m just too much in my feels but I’m confused why people don’t understand the feelings of the ml. From as young as middle school (possibly elementary) he was physically abused by his father and his mother would do nothing but cry and tell him to “stop being gay”. That goes on for YEARS and he also experienced firsthand how mc mothers feels about homosexuality. At no pointed did he really have the space to full accept who he is. He got into a lavender relationship and had a child on the way just to be “normal” for crying out loud.
Someone who feels like that about their identity would feel like they are tainting someone who considers them their first love. I understand that there is need for communication but as a college student trying to figure out your life, how would you have the mental capacity to hold someone else’s future in your hands. When they met in the future, he was still not open to creating a relationship but he was able to figure it out with the help of the mc.
Idk but with some of the comments have read, seems like some of y’all have never felt or tried to understand the betrayal of a parent, the first people that are supposed to give you unconditional love at a very vulnerable timing your childhood. And in all honesty, it’s a lot of work through. ╥﹏╥
