I dont think he is smitten. He is just annoyed or tired of all the people around him and, maybe, with Moeum people dont gather this much around him.
The last panel where he says "Moeum answer already" or something, looks more desperate/unwell than "OMG Moeum answer me, already missing you." or something. ^^'
