I (want to) believe he did that because Owen’s name (Rose) would be tied to the freak’s criminal activities and would probably harm his reputation and company (Rose Pharma)++ it would reveal Owen as a victim and he would be placed in the public eye for everyone to pity AND scrutinize (like with grape victims that come forward)
Do I agree with it ? No, I would also very much like to see that family suffer for all the hurt they’ve caused Owen and the other victims but, I do understand Nicks decision to protect what’s important to him (and so far he’s not been portrayed as a good guy - far from it - so this is a very on character decision for him)
