The author deliberately paints him as a shallow person in that sense aswell - it just doesn't seem as bad since we as the audience already know his overarching goal and perspective. Im glad you're worrying about these women but they're just side characters intended to showcase the blonde dudes personality and overall ideology for the sake of the story. It sucks but take it with a grain of salt
