you have not been following the story lol. its not sionna's child at all, she simply adopted the child that eli (her brother) and elizabeth had when eli raped elizabeth. it was elizabeth's dying wish for the child to be taken care of.
sionna never signed anything other than her marriage documents to etienne??? and she only went with noah temporarily to prevent him from literally killing etienne in that moment. etienne is simply just not rational and would rather have died instead of seeing sionna give in to noah probably.
the adaptation is clearly different from the novel. those things didn't happen in the manhwa adaptation. its a different story. im talking about manhwa etienne - it doesn't matter to me what novel etienne did or didn't do. also, in the manhwa, etienne knows that it's eli's child already, he still hates him regardless. why are you so desperate to make excuses for a terrible man?

Sure the ML is toxic but it’s crazy how readers here don’t consider his trauma. When he was a boy his entire family were killed. He blames himself. He suffered then ended up enslaved by Noah. Then he ran way ended up being taken by FL dad. They treated him like shit. A boy that was already mentally fucked up falls in love with the only girl that treats him well. Then they get married then boom something happens FL signs a document which of course she didn’t know would allow someone to kill and hurt him. She also sold him for his own good and “married Noah”. Fast forward ML comes back hateful because he was betrayed by FL. FL doesn’t say anything so of course there is a misunderstanding right away. He mistreat FL. Ppl here are only sympathizing with the female lead cause she is a woman. Ignoring all the trauma that guy went through. Wtf do ppl think a slave is?
I guess they wanted him to be all romantic to the woman who sold him and signed papers for him to be hurt and killed and also she had a child with man who literally trafficked him. I’m not done won’t the novel but my frontal lobe is developed enough to sympathize with both characters.
