Currently, yeomin's wearing expensive clothes, gets picked up and dropped off by someone in a fancy car, so the classmate has reason to believe yeomin's well off. It's all about perspective. If the story was from that classmates pov, we'd all be falling over each other rn calling yeomin an ass for using his connections to get a scholarship even tho he has money. Mr Yeon rlly messed up, he shouldn't have interfered. With how good Yeomin's grades are, he'd probably have gotten the scholarship anyways, and nobody would question it. plus, picking and dropping him everywhere is also a dick move, being able to travel by yourself is a huge part of having independence, it's one of the things I was most excited about when I started college. it's also giving others the wrong impression, which is absolutely not yeomin's problem but people and gossip have a way to fuck things up royally
