I think that's a pretty broad generalization. A lot of A/B/O stories involve consent, suppressants, heat management, and social rules specifically because the characters aren't just animals. They're usually written as people dealing with stronger biological instincts, not creatures incapable of making moral choices.

I'd say 8/10 abo stories involve rape and it isn't treated as a crime, I like the 2 stories that don't have rape as a normal things but I don't think my generalization is a false one
