The story is neat in the way that the magic is interesting. Like this whole thing with the destined partner and how their powers work. I wish there was more on that here, exploring the dynamic of those power wielders and their pheros, how that came about, elaborate on the power system, and what not. I found the first 20 or so chapters way more interesting because it felt like ML would slowly start to uncover things like that for the sake of being with FL. But it just nosedives into your usual "we're getting fucked up the ass by our enemies and take it until we can have an epic payoff in a few more dozen chapters" plot. I'm glad FL is starting to make moves in the most recent chapters, but it feels like the usual slop.
Give me more of those original world building elements instead of letting these sociopathic nobles duke it out YET AGAIN.
