that the chapter ending with him arriving home drunk isn’t necessarily setting up a huge argument that same night (could be very wrong it and it really being an argument lol). The conversation he had before about feeling “free” and using him as an escape felt too intentional to me. I feel like the next chapter might force him back into reality instead (as it's been proven before). Whether it’s his mom noticing he’s drunk or a conversation the next morning about school and his future, I think we’re about to see exactly what he’s trying to escape from more in depth.
So far the story has been showing how differently he acts when he’s with him, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the start of him making more impulsive choices and eventually having to confront how much he’s relying on him as an escape.
