If u're talking abt the pink haired king, it's bcs their family descends from thieves that later on became kings, and their ancestors had very unflattering appearances wich were passed down due to super strong genes no matter how beautiful their wives were. That is until the crown prince was born w a graceful and beautiful appearance and a talent in magic wich made his father extremely jealous (yup vro's jealous of his kid) and made him want to get rid of his kid no matter what collateral damage it would do
