It’s shounen ai because I don’t think even the main character realized he likes the other one romantically. While the story itself feels more Seinen genre imo, pretty much complicated in a way you need to pay attention more than usual. It’s an awesome read if you like stuff like that.

On the night of his birthday, Xin, the sole heir of the powerful Zhou family, reunites with Lau, his clan guardian, and confides in him about the mysterious tattoo forming on his back. Lau begrudgingly sets off to investigate this strange phenomenon, but what secrets will he uncover along the way?


If the synopsis is kinda confused u dw the premise itself is kinda a part of the mystery and it gets uncovered the deeper you get into the story. But basically just know, main guy = Lau, he’s a ‘guardian’ which is sorta like a bodyguard but way more complicated cuz of lore reasons, and the other main guy = Xin, the heir to this ancient rich family. Him and Lau are childhood friends but also Lau is his ‘guardian’. Their relationship is currently complicated cuz of their pasts, but they do still love each other. Also don’t go into this expecting much romance rly, the main focus is the plot. They haven’t even kissed or confessed yet
