I mean, it worked right? To Bianca, Maria wasn’t someone who hated her, she was misled into thinking someone she trusted killed her mother who was everything to her.
And Bianca wanted to clear her name and figure out who actually killed her mother. If she antagonized Maria further, it would have cut off any chance of Maria figuring out something was amiss. It would confirm her worldview was right.
So lowkey, I think Bianca handled it well. She acted normally to Maria’s antics and that is what made Maria start to consider something was wrong.
I think it was understandable. Maria was aggressive but at that point she thought a friend killed her mom. Not to mention, she literally lived in a place that had control over what she hears and sees.
Bianca didn’t cave. She didn’t cry or beg in front of Maria. She didn’t give up. She didn’t relent to the rumors or threats and kept looking. She has a backbone. It’s just that Maria wasn’t the one she had to stand up against, it was the actual murderers
