Idk if this is a long shot but I feel like the author just wants to draw a dark angsty sex scenes (sexual harassment/assualt included)
The signs were kinda there even before season 5 with the introduction of Haebom’s stalker when they were in college and when the red head was introduced and tried to get into Taesung’s pants. Also the last chapter of season 4 where Taesung literally says something like “omg how is this any different from grape?” And Haebom has to assure him he’s fine. Like am I the only one who thought that was random and strange way to end a season?
Adding a more mature dark twists in comparison to the earlier seasons is fine but I don’t think it needed to revolve so much around sex when the original plot was about being accepted (Haebom w/ Taesung’s family, them learning it was okay to like each other, etc..) like y’all can remember how much they started having sex after they first did it LOL
If season 5 was purely about getting acceptance from Taesung’s grandfather that would be fine, it wouldve been a dramatic and exciting season to see how they would navigate that problem. It just didn’t need to have so much meaningless sex in it? Season 5 came out 5 months ago and after Haebom’s dramatic disappearance the story has been a cycle of Haebom being sad at work > them going back to the hotel to have sex > repeat. Outside of that loop we basically know nothing else. It wouldve been nice to get some of Haebom’s internal monologue and hint at why he can’t tell anyone or even a hint of what happened put of course we’re trapped in Taesung’s POV.
Regarding the previous chapter we know that Haebom is finally wanting to open up to Taesung which in my opinion is super random why now of all times?? (Sorry if I misread something) but it all just feels like a big set up to have something bad happen (which just so happens to be…you guessed it.. a consequence that has to do something with having sex (he gets SA’d). There are so many ways the author could’ve put Taesung in the position of having to make an ultimatum between his marriage and Haebom’s safety but it just had to be SA?
I can only hope that this season will be more than just excuses to draw angsty sex. At this point I wouldnt be surprised if the grandfather told Haebom he’d get someone to grape Taesung if he didn’t leave… hopefully I’m wrong and the reason is an actual good AND interesting one. Long story short, if the author wanted to draw darker scenes it wouldve made more sense thematically in a new story that starts off with a darker vibe as opposed to this one.
