even though i think this is a mid read, I found it surprising that people are sitting here and genuinely complaining about how nakamura doesn't end up with hirose. I honestly got that from the FIRST chapter. hirose is straight and he will never reciprocate nakamura's feelings and well, that's the reality for a lot of gay people. you get over it and move on to other people.
like cmon, guys you act like this is the first time you've ever seen a gay guy fall in love with a straight guy and OBVIOUSLY gets his heart broken when he realizes that he can't have the person he wants. it's such a normal thing and it's not a story flaw either.
and in MY opinion, after watching the anime and seeing the fun anime only scene with nakamura and matsumura, i thought they would make a cute couple. the only other gay kid around, a lowkey freak like him (those stalkerish tendencies), and they can actually be themselves around the other. i thought they would make for a more natural romance. they relate to each other and i think that's a good basis for starting a relationship.
