The only thing that left bugging me is that was Yuma the stepmother or who was she to him as he was younger.. for some reason the fathers family didn't want him or just wanted the house/inheritance?

Now THAT'S found family. No one in this story is related to each other. Not Maika and Ibuki, nor Yuma and Kasumi-san, but they're such an ordinary family that you wouldn't believe that. This was such a good read.
