The story had potential, and the angst definitely delivered at times. But for some reason, every major moment felt like it was missing that final punch. I could see what the story was trying to do, but the execution often felt too simplistic for the themes it was tackling.
The biggest issue for me was how predictable it became. After a while, I could pretty much guess every plot point before it happened. And with the pacing dragging things out so much, it became harder and harder to stay invested. I don't have many chapters left, but I still ended up taking a break because it started feeling like a chore rather than something I was excited to read.
I didn't hate it, though. In fact, I've definitely read worse stories than this. But I've also read many stories that did similar things much better, which is why I don't really know how to feel about it. It's not bad enough for me to drop completely, but not good enough to have me hooked either. So maybe I'll just come back and pick it up again when I feel like it??
