It’s just my guess but maybe he has some evil shit chasing him or something and his father does all that stuff so that he won’t die? Maybe something has happened in his past because of what now he can die any day… that’s just my guess tho (because he’s been locked up in the house for the past 10 years, not since birth) or something similar. I think he knows that he’s in some danger and can die.. so prolly that’s why he wasn’t that thrilled hearing about the “next year” plans and talks about death that easily.
Ofc the father also can be the reason of the shit..
interesting, will he turn out to be a dad that tries to save his son or.. a father that uses him to get something out of it and doesn’t care about him at all…

Anyone knows if there’s a novel for this? ML wasn’t imagining a version of MC being much older visiting his grave, but rather the same MC we’re seeing now. For someone wanting to tie the MC down to him, hearing him speak of next year didn’t even excite him like it should have. It’s like he doesn’t think he’ll be there for it regardless…
