@cigsaftermery You know.. after reading what you said, I have to agree with you. Even if the age of sexual consent in Japan is 16, when it comes to teenagers, the story should stay as Shounen Ai.
Imo, if there happens to be any sexual activity, things could very easily be heavily censored/out of sight, without losing the implied intimacy. (Not just the minimal light saber use, you know.) So as to not even unintentionally sexualize teenagers. Especially with the seemingly increasing audience of bl/gl.
When they're both adults and legal age (18), I feel like then it would be okay to expand the scenes and show more like how how the state of this manga is now.
It's kinda like how I've seen that some webtoons have a different, censored version for readers not 18+ or vice versa. I assume it's easier said than done tho. What with this being a manga vs being a vertical webcomic.

plot is cute but it would be better to not see smut and sex of 15 and 16 year old high-schoolers,,,i know being an teenager don’t stop ppl from being intimate in reality but they didn’t had to draw it THAT openly at least censor it or just show the kissing and skip the sex but made it clear they did it or smthg if it’s important for the plot buut this just seems marketing for sexualizing teenagers considering many grown ass men and women read this kind of content
