Here’s a theory, I think that guts was self blaming his attribute of karma which is father instilled into him. Then the void kinda breaks this connection and says it was never his fault and that he is missing his “other self” (either the fact he is half dead, orrr the wolf is his other self), this other self shares the same qualities as griffins other self (femto/griffith) that means that guts can most likely transcend to the same reality as Griffith and touch him aka kill him. By the ending scene I’m guessing he went through an ego death, you can see as he somewhat reverts back to a child in the last scene screaming and crying, it’s a connection to the Id ego and superego, he def reset his ego and is superego and his id (your natural instincts and desires) was more prominent showing that his glass of a soul was little thrown out and now just a glass empty. It’s representing that he is getting over his constant negative stigma that is holding him back, in reality his hatred was holding him back from killing or doing anything because it consumed him into killing people who had nothing to do with him. Guts is learning that what he did was wrong and that he can do better and it just broke him.

Can someone smarter than me explain what just happened?
