I think the Borreoti are known to grow quicker than others, if i remember correctly. So it may be a way for the author to show us her physical growth while reminding us she is still a child

I have some feeling of oddity with her growth, like she seems to have grown but I don't know her facial structure and hair, something like that seems that they jus copied and put in a "older" body. I am so sorry not being able to explain better, it's just she doesn't seem to bem and adolescent, just a child with longer arms.
