this is the short version, basically the ml is diagnosed w anti social personality disorder, he manipulates the mc by acting like the perfect guy for him, and the mc really falls deeply in love with him. later the mc accuses the ml of having a relationship w his dead fiancés little sister(the girl he saw him with at the hotel the first time they met.), and ml manipulates the situation and gaslights mc into thinking he was in the wrong for accusing him of that and ml breaks up with him. mc is completely heartbroken thinking he was in the wrong, and he goes crawling back to the ml. (spoiler, ml was actually having a relationship with her)
through the whole novel ml only uses ppl for his own gain and discards them quickly, eventually his facade starts to crack and the mc figures out all the bad things he’s done and what he did to the friend (ml brought him to this ‘club house’ for rich ppl where he watched him get raped for like 3 days)
the box that the mc’s friend sent him after his death contained a diary that also warned him about ml telling him to run away if they ever meet bc he was a snake and a manipulator.
after mc finds out about what type of person he is, he basically destroys the mls life, and ml ends up going to prison, loses his career and sort of have a character growth arc. the only person he cares about in the world in the mc so he becomes honest with him moving forward when he gets released from prison and they get back together.

from what i remember in the beginning woojin finds the mc interesting especially because he doesn’t respond in ways he expects and can be very unpredictable, that’s why he tries to control mc in many ways. ml sees mc as inconvenient because he feels like can’t control himself around him and he feels like mc makes him irrational.
it’s not exactly love from mls perspective at first. he wants to posses mc, he doesn’t want him to play violin in front of other ppl, he doesn’t even want him to leave the house, or meet other people, he wants mc to wait for him at home all day like a dog lol. keep in mind he’s a diagnosed psychopath so he has a hard time categorising his emotions towards the mc, but he feels very intensely that he wants to control every aspect of mcs life and be the only one he relies and depends on.
ml is very obsessed w mc, even hires someone to follow mc around and report everything he does every two hours, even during their breakup he sabotages every attempt mc does to try to get over him, to make him come crawling back.
i think he realises he’s in love with mc when he turns himself in to go to prison. he’s sort of punishing himself, and even though mc tries to visit him in prison he refuses to see him. while ml is locked up, the mc becomes a famous violinist and the ml rewatches his broadcasts hundreds of times. the mc gets him released from prison after a year, despite saying he never wanted to see him again and that he wanted him to die, so that gives the ml hope. the first person ml goes to when he’s released is the mc, even before calling his own mother.
mc is kind of messed up too, he feels a bit relieved/happy when he finds out that the ml treated his friend terribly, because it means that the ml actually didn’t love them and it makes him realise the ml treats him ‘special’.
lmk if you want more details
ml didn’t directly ‘kill them’ in that sense he insists they died at their own hands. both of them loved him very much and once they saw his true monstrous nature they couldn’t live with it, ml admits later on to himself that he pushed them to suicide with how he acted. ml also has a shady past from highschool when he was bullied, and all his bullies also somehow all ended up committing suicide.
ml gets really superstitious about the 29 age thing and becomes really anxious that the mc will die at that age too, which is one of the reasons he obsessively wants to know where he is at all times, and does not want him to go outside.
