this manga made me experience a lot of feelings T^T from the prologue beginning i could feel a subtle bittersweetness between the two leads. i truly appreciate how diverse this manga really is, from parental relationships, familial relationships, platonic friendships, f/f relationships, m/m relationships, and even leo’s guardians have such a tender, realistic rawness in their bond i was almost driven to tears, just by a few panels. i don’t know if this is because i’ve been consuming a ton of soul shattering, angsty and gritty media - especially queer media - or if because i have been in an unhappy headspace for a period of time, but the sheer vulnerability in this manga were really so... freeing? refreshing? to see. i thought that i was being seen the same way the characters were being seen. especially that conversation around braveness. i think it really changed my perspective on braveness and courage tbh. i really loved how ‘fragility’ was depicted in here... “does being a wimp who gets hurt over every small thing mean it’s wrong for you both to stay together?” - author i beg you please write a book. and possibly be my therapist if you can. and i think it’s ironic how a bl manga highlighted so many things in a society that does not learn to tolerate a certain kind of ‘love’, how vulnerability and fears will always be in a relationship, how we’re all really a little bit afraid at the end of the line. don’t even get me started on the art here!!! the panels say so much in a page, with or without any dialogue, you can quite literally read the emotions on the faces of the characters - their doubts, their fears, their prejudices and thoughts. please give me more vulnerability in my bl. the achillean and men loving men really need it. they need communication & emotions & god i love this manga and author so much, mita ori you are truly a gem.
